Sony's E3 2017 Lineup Includes Big Hitters And more
Sony Interactive Entertainment America President Shawn Layden spoke with Glixel recently and gave some info on their upcoming E3 press conference. Layden confirmed that God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Spider-Man, Days Gone and Gran Turismo will all be present. The God of War game, in fact, will play a central role in the conference as both the PlayStation boss and PlayStation Europe's Jim Ryan said,

The God of War reboot from Sony's Santa Monica studio will be central to this – its new, more narrative-focused, open-world approach with a grizzled, bearded Kratos coming as a direct result of Sony's new global thinking. While always popular in North America, past games in the series just didn't do it for players elsewhere. It's a franchise that has historically acutely underperformed in Europe, hack and slash games tend to not do so well in Europe, so the narrative this time around will make a big difference. European gamers love narrative games.

So it happens that God of War's newer focus on story might have been inspired in an effort to win over more European gamers. Nonetheless, the new direction has surely gotten everyone's attention in North America as well. As for other games to be in the lineup, we will have to wait for the conference as the PlayStation people kept their cards close to their chest. When asked about Sucker Punch's new game and a possible Bloodborne 2 all Glixel got was dead air. However, Layden did hint that some new Japanese games will be featured to Time when he said, " we'll have some big announcements at E3 in that precise vein." Lastly, it is plausible to believe that some big third party games will be featured in the PlayStation conference as Sony confirmed partnerships with Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Star Wars Battlefront II. Excitement levels are sure to rise further this week.
