Will WWII Reunite the CoD Community?

Call of Duty WWII has been officially announced. While little has been revealed about multiplayer, Sledgehammer Games has a lot of to live up to in terms of multiplayer.

Will Call of Duty WW2 Reunite CoD Players
Call of Duty: World War II has been officially announced and has been getting very positive feedback so far. The community seems to be very happy to return to boots on the ground and the classic World War 2 setting. This is the first Call of Duty since World at War to return to World War 2, which was released back in 2008. This marks a huge change from the recent Call of Duty games which had a more futuristic setting and abandoned its beloved boots on the ground gameplay.

So the question is, will WWII reunite the currently split community? It's possible. Activision was very smart to release only one title this year compared to last years, Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. The problem with releasing two titles is that it splits the community and causing a disconnection between the community. However if Sledgehammer Games remains very open with the community this year, we could be in for a lot of fun. They've given us the one thing we've asked for, boots on the ground. That much has everybody paying attention to this years game. It's gonna take more than that to reunite the community though.

Raven Software thus far, has done a very poor job at communicating with the fans of their very well crafted remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This caused a lot of outrage in the community and Sledgehammer Games is going to have to deal with what's to come in November when everybody is united under one game. Whether that will be positive or negative is not known at the moment. So far everyone is very satisfied with the reveal. It will be a lot different and in my opinion and a lot better to have the community all on the same new title. However there's a lot that is still to be said about how the community will react to the multiplayer reveal. Which is planned for E3 in June.

Multiplayer is the most important part of a Call of Duty game to the fans. Campaign modes are awesome, but the heart of Call of Duty is in its multiplayer. Competitive players involved in the eSports side of CoD will hopefully be in for a treat this year as Sledgehammer seems very interested in that side of the community. The most important thing is for the developers to do their best to get everyone united. They must have something that fits the needs of competitive and casual players. So far the positive reception is great but we'll see come June when the multiplayer portion of the game is finally shown.
