The first trailer for the next iteration in the Dragon Quest series; Square Enix's popular JRPG Dragon Quest XI, appeared at this year's Jump Festa.
The trailer showcases the opening for the upcoming game, looking completely and absolutely amazing, along with utterly gorgeous animation. Although the opening is great and all; this opening is for the PlayStation 4 version of Dragon Quest XI, since they announced that the PlayStation 4 version would be using Unreal Engine 4, and will have the beautiful graphics that we saw in the trailer. There was no gameplay whatsoever, though, so we have no idea what the story is or what the game is really like.
The reason I think they wouldn't show anything for the Switch version is because I think they're saving that for January, but even so; there was no gameplay for the 3DS version or the PlayStation 4 version. I find it very disappointing, and sincerely hope this is not the only bit of info we're getting this year.
Dragon Quest XI will be available in 2017 for the Playstation 4, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch.
