Otaku Talk Recommendations - Grimm
In this week's Otaku Talk Recommendations I will be talking about Grimm. Grimm is an American police procedural fantasy drama with a twist a dark and fantastical project about a world in which characters inspired by Grimms' Fairy Tales exist", although the stories and characters inspiring the show are also drawn from other sources.

The show focuses on Homicide investigator Nick Burkhardt of the Portland Police Department learns he is descended from a line of guardians known as Grimms, charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world called Wesen, the German word for being or creature. Throughout the series, he must battle against an assortment of dangerous creatures, with help from his Wesen friend, Monroe, and his partner, Detective Hank Griffin.

The show's formula is very similar to the formula used for Fringe, where in the beginning you have your lore, and world based stories, case of the week, and character building episodes. However as you continue on the episodes are more story based instead of having your monster of the week or case of the week. But throughout these episodes you see how much the characters grow throughout the series.

I do enjoy how they tie in the mythology of the series with events that happen in our history, which is something I enjoy as someone who loves history, and the creators do a great job building the world, and just seeing how it's all connected. Then of course there's all the monsters, and special effects, which are kinda like Once Upon A Time's effects, but in a much darker tone, and how they make them look so good.

Grimm started airing in October 28, 2011 on NBC and has been running for five seasons now, and will be beginning its sixth and final season in January 6, 2017. with only thirteen episodes. I would recommend this to those who like shows such as Fringe, The X-Files, Once Upon A Time, and Supernatural.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this week's recommendation. What are some of things that you like that I should recommend next?
