According to Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime', the company has learned a lot from the bad reception of the Wii U and plans on improving its strategy with the release of the Nintendo NX.
In an interview with AlistDaily, the Nintendo president goes on to point out that some things could have been done better with the Wii U, particularly concerning the positioning of the product and software droughts. He says that the company needs to communicate its successor's "uniqueness" and what that means for the game playing experience better, and provide a "continuous beat" of titles that motivate people to keep picking up the hardware and new software consistently after release.
"Those are the critical lessons," Fils-Aime' said. "And as I verbalize them, they're really traditional lessons within the industry. You have to make sure people understand the concept, you have to make sure you've got a great library of games, and when you do that, you tend to do well."
The Nintendo NX is currently slated for release in March 2017. More information about the upcoming console will be revealed later this year.
