The Kickstarted sequel to the 1991 Sega Genesis game has been picked up by publisher Adult Swim Games, and has debuted a new trailer giving the game a prospective release date of 2017.


Publisher Adult Swim Games announced yesterday that it will be backing ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove, the sequel to the Sega Genesis game that released in 1991.

To celebrate the title, which was successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2015, the publisher released a new teaser for the game, as well as a prospective release date of 2017 for PC and console.


Players will be able to enjoy two-player split-screen, but now have the option of four-player online co-op as well. Boosting nine playable characters, a myriad of of randomly generated levels, and a soundtrack consisting of thirteen classic remixes and thirteen original tracks, the upcoming title certainly has some new tricks up its sleeve this time around.
