Procedurally generated exploration game No Man's Sky, despite having technical issues at launch, has reached the highest of Steam's ranks for 2016 on its first day. Since the game's PC release this past Friday, over 212,620 players have logged on.
Highly popular titles like XCOM 2 and Dark Souls 3 both launched with much lower player bases, but with controversy brewing leading up to the highly anticipated title's release, only time will tell as to whether or not the game can maintain its momentum.
According to Steam's statistics, No Man's Sky currently peaks with over 125,000 users daily, putting it between the likes of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2. First announced at the 2013 Game Awards, this first-person action adventure game is currently available for both PlayStation 4 and PC.
