MEGA® Brands Inc., a member of the Mattel family of companies (NASDAQ: MAT), and Bungie today announced the launch of a new series of construction sets based on the popular video game Destiny. The line will be available in stores starting in July 2016.

Unveiled to the public at the annual New York Toy Fair in February 2016, Destiny'sconstruction sets from Mega Bloks offer authentic, amazingly detailed micro action figures and vehicles from the console game, which was recognized at its debut as the biggest new video game franchise launch in history. With this collection, fans will be able to take their passion for the game beyond the screen this summer by building their own Guardians and vehicles.

"We are so happy to partner with Bungie and bring the popular Destiny video game to life through construction," said Bisma Ansari, SVP and Global Brand GM at MEGA Brands Inc. "Fans of the game and fans of construction sets will appreciate the authenticity and level of detail in the iconic buildable vehicles, environments, and micro action figures."

The construction sets are inspired by the video game's unique action storylines, which focus on personal adventures as a Guardian of the last city on Earth in quests to explore the outer reaches of the solar system in search of clues to the fall of humanity.

"We're thrilled to work with MEGA Brands for this exciting project," added Jim McQuillan, Visual Identity and Brand Creative Director, Bungie. "At Bungie, we're committed to creating captivating experiences for our players. Our collaboration with MEGA Brands enables us to bring the world of Destiny and its characters to life outside the game."
