Nintendo Direct 3/3/2016 Discussion

Author: Danielle Crowder

Category: Opinion

Check out my discussion for the all new Nintendo Direct for March 3, 2016, and see my thoughts on what was shown on the all new Direct.

Nintendo recently released an all new Nintendo Direct on March 3,2016. Now first things first there was no Zelda Wii U, NX, or Mobile news. Now I'm not surprised that there was no news for Zelda U, or NX, because that's something to show at E3, so not so surprising there, but I'm but I am however surprised that there was no mobile news at all especially due to Miitomo coming out this month, and that there wasn't any new details for the new account system My Nintendo all that was shown was pretty much what My Nintendo is, and that was it. I mean I already knew about the points system already, show me new stuff, and how it will benefit Nintendo's consumers.

Now, Star Fox fans will be very happy to know that there will be no delay for Star Fox Zero, and will be released in April as planned, now when it comes to the controls people might not like them, due to the motion controls, and that it pretty much Star Fox 64 with better graphics, but even though I'm not a huge Star Fox fan I do like the new stages, and the visuals, but will probably not get this, because I'm just not into the Star Fox series. Also fan's of series will have another game to maybe look forward to as will. Star Fox Guard, which used to be known as Project Guard, however the reason why I say maybe is because fans might not like it, because it is a separate game from Star Fox Zero, and not a mode within the game, also because Star Fox Guard looks like a tower defense game, but maybe people will like it I don't know.

Next we have new updates for Splatoon, and Mario Maker which was just minor pretty much bringing weapon combos of weapons that aren't used that often.m, and of course being able to being able to use the key, spikes, and red coins. Then of course we have the awesome update for Hyrule Warriors Legends, because I had no idea that there was gonna be more content coming to this. We're getting Medli who is one of my favorite characters fro Wind Waker, and we're getting the Toon Ganondorf costume, which is something I've been wanting ever since they showed the costumes for Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. My only problem is the many complaints on how Hyrule Warriors Legends not working well on the regular 3DS, which will suck, because I really want to play Hyrule Warriors Legends, but don't want to buy an all new 3DS just yet.

Then we have a new trailer for the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic At The Rio 2016 Olympics, which looked pretty good, and I'm interested to try it, because I've been a fan of the Mario & Sonic Olympics series, and I've enjoyed every one of them so I'm interested to see what events they bring to this, also that we're getting new characters as well, so I hope a demo's released for the Wii U version so I check it out, and see if I like it.

Now I was really excited to see this, because I loved this when it was shown at E3 last year, and that is Shin Megami Tensei #FE, which is now known as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, yes that is the official title for the game, and it's amazing, especially due to the fact that it's a mix of my two favorite things Japanese Pop Idols, and RPGS. It just makes me think of Love Live, and also an amazing soundtrack, and will have nods to both of Shin Megami Tensei series, and Fire Emblem series, but the only thing I wish they could have gone that extra mile, and added English voices, but I think due to localization, and just trying to get the game out in time, they weren't able to. Although there is no English voices the game looks great, and I can't wait to play it on June 24.

Ok then we have Lost Reavers, known as Project Treasure, Bravely Default 2nd Layer, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest VIII, and Monster Hunter Generations, which isn't all that interesting, except for Lost Reavers, which looks fun, and will probably try it out when the beta version comes out. I am very excited for Dragon Quest VII, and VIII, because I've been a fan of the series for a while now, and never got the chance to play Dragon Quest VII, and VIII when it comes out on the 3DS later this year, and will be a good way to hold me over until Dragon Quest X, and XI come out.

Now this next title is something that many people wanted to come to the west, and that is Rhythm Heaven Tengoku Plus, now known here in the west as Rhythm Heaven Megamix. I'm really excited to see this coming to the west, because I've actually seen footage for the Japanese version, and it looks great. Not only that, but will be a great way for those who haven't played the games before, because this contains songs from all the versions, including the Gameboy version that never came here to the west.

Then we get more info for Metroid Federation Force, which I seriously don't care for at all. I don't care about the game, the art style, or the story. It's just not that great.

Before we get into the two big announcements, it was revealed that SNES games would be releasing on the all new 3DS, which is something that's hard to get excited about, because people might not want to buy these games again, not only that, but we don't know whether or not if the cross-buy will work with these games.

Now onto the huge announcements Paper Mario: Color Splash, and Kirby: Planet Robobot. Although it's not really surprising, due to us already knowing about these, due to a rumor that came out talking about Paper Mario, which many people I think including myself had mixed reactions to these, because of how the game mechanics look, and how it might feel like Sticker Star, but I'm gonna keep an open mind about this, but the game does look amazing though. The same thing I think can be said about Kirby: Planet Robobot, which many people might worry due to it using the Triple Deluxe user, and I don't if people will like this or not, but do like the copy mechanics, and how you can use a mecha in this. I also like the Amiibo line up, and the compatibility.
