Gravity Falls Series Finale Review

This is my review for the series finale of Gravity Falls

So this is a sad day for Gravity Falls Fans, because it's the final episode of Gravity Falls. Yes after two great seasons it all ends tonight.

For those who don't know what Gravity Falls is it's an American animated television series created by animator Alex Hirsch that first aired on Disney Channel, and then on Disney XD from June 15, 2012 to February 15, 2016. The series follows adventures of Dipper Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter) and his twin sister Mabel (voiced by Kristen Schaal) in the fictional town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, while on summer vacation. At the start of the series, twins Dipper and Mabel are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle (or "Grunkle") Stan (voiced by Hirsch), in a mysterious town full of paranormal forces and supernatural creatures. The kids help Stan run "The Mystery Shack", the tourist trap that he owns, while also investigating the local mysteries. The series officially premiered on the Disney Channel in the United States on June 15, 2012.

Recently there have two episodes prior to this leading up to the finale Weirdmageddon Part 1 and Weirdmageddon Part 2: Escape From Reality.

(Note: There will be spoilers.)

So Weirdmageddon Part 3: Take Back The Falls first off picks up right where part 2 leaves off where we enter the shack, and mostly everyone who has survived so far, and wasn't captured by Bill. Due to Ford and Dipper putting the unicorn hair around the shack. Now it was interesting to see that Stan was prepared for a end of the world situation like this. Then we see all the people that have been captured by Bill, and built into a giant throne.

Then of course the twins have a big speech to save the town and defeat Bill, and then of course we see Mcgucket's awesome invention the Shack-Tron, which first of all was freaking awesome idea on taking the shack and turning it into a robot, which was so cool. Which by the way there was a bunch of anime references in this episode. Soos first of all with the gun swords reference, and also introducing Mcgucket to what anime is, Bill drawing his face on the earth which looked like Koro sensei from Assassination Classroom, and of course the awesome mecha battle against the henchmanics which was awesome. Also the nod at the end to Over The Garden Wall.

Then we go to Ford as we see him captured by Bill, and him trying to figure out how to break the force field around the town, which is interesting that the barrier was created due to Gravity Falls own law of Weirdness Magnetism, and how Bill was apparently from a second dimension and how he apparently "liberated" his dimension.

But what was interesting was first off how to free the people was to just move the new mayor, and everyone was unfrozen, but the cipher wheel was the way to defeat Bill which was something that many saw coming, including myself, and we also find out who all the members of the wheel were.

However, unfortunately things don't go as planned due to Stan and Ford arguing, and because of this they weren't able to defeat him in time. Of course Bill tries to torture Dipper and Mabel, and tries to get Ford to help him break the force field. But the twins escape, during that time Stan and Ford figure out a plan to stop Bill, Just to where it gets bleak the saddest moment in the series happens. Stan sacrifices himself in order to save the world, by switching their clothes they tricked Bill into going into Stan's mind, and in the process destroyes his mind by erasing Bill with the memory gun, and lost his memories in the process

It was just so sad, just seeing Stan not being able to remember his family, but it was so sweet how they used Mable's scrapbook to bring back his memories, and of course the twins having their 13th birthday, and how Stanford and Stanley go out and sail across the world, which is a great ending for the Stan twins, and Soos being the new owner which I saw coming, because we all know he's the perfect replacement, and seeing the twins head for home, and Waddles being able to go home with them.

Overall this was a perfect ending to the series, and I couldn't think of it any other way. Thank you so much Alex Hurch for creating an amazing show. I can't wait to see what you'll do next.

SCORE: 10/10
