Since the release of the first Fallout fans have always been able to take companions in travel. Until now, players could surf the post-apocalyptic wasteland with whole units. In Fallout 3, the number was reduced to two companions. And in Fallout 4 you can take in travel only one companion.
Head of Marketing of Bethesda Softworks confirmed that players will be able to make friends with many of the characters in Wastelands and if you want to change them you can do that any time. However, you can’t organize a squad of several companions. And when gamers began to ask about the reasons for such a decision, Pete Hines said that the developers simply do not want to make a system with several characters.
On Twitter Hines explained that every game was different from the previous one. They decided not to leave everything as it was in the previous game. And that the developers have done everything in Fallout 4 as they wanted.
Other changes in your companions will be their immortality. Companion may be incompetent and badly wounded, but not killed. The reason for this decision was the desire of developers to spare players from unnecessary load of last saves when companions are killed.
Release date of Fallout 4 is scheduled for November 10, 2015. The game will be available on the platforms PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
