Just Cause 3 is an upcoming open world action-adventure video game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix. It was announced on November 11, 2014. It is the third game in the Just Cause series and is the sequel to the 2010 video game Just Cause 2.

The game will be set in the sun-drenched Mediterranean island republic of Medici, a land crumbling under the ruthless rule of General Di Ravello. It has been confirmed that the island of Medici is actually the home island of Rico. The map size has been confirmed to be similar to that of the setting of Just Cause 2 with 1,000 square kilometres being dedicated for the new setting. However, its volumetric terrain has increased to allow more verticality - as a result of this, it is now possible for the player to explore subterranean caverns (a new feature) and to scale buildings more effectively and realistically.

It has also been confirmed that Just Cause 2‍ 's signature features - the grappling hook and parachute - will be re-appearing with improved mechanics. The focus on mayhem and exaggerated physics will also remain, along with a new wingsuit.

Associate Product Marketing Manager, Scott Strichart said:

"We’re pretty excited to share the world’s first look at the gameplay of Just Cause 3 with all of you here on PlayStation.Blog. Every explosion in the trailer pretty much speaks for itself, but before you hit the play button, there’s really only one thing you need to know: this is 100% gameplay, captured using cinematic camera angles. There is no scripting or staging, and you’re not watching cut scenes. Got it? Okay, now you can hit play."

According to the developer:

"This footage is all actual gameplay. It was captured in-game using cinematic camera angles. It contains no cut scenes. Nothing was staged or scripted."

Also, it is said that those who pre-order Just Cause 3 will be given the Weaponised Vehicle Pack, shown at the end of the trailer. This bonus content comes with three "exclusive luxury vehicles primed for action and fully loaded with the firepower to kick-start a revolution."

Just Cause 3 is set to be released in Q4 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
