I want to see video games continue to push the boundaries with bigger and bolder ideas; less sequels and more new IPs. The best way to do that is to be as honest a critic as you can be, no free passes.

  • I have been an avid gamer for more than 19 years, and I follow the industry quite closely. Writing about games gives me a way to contribute to the medium I love. Movies, games, and comics are the big three in the writing area for me, and I have been gaming since I owned my original NES. Since hen I have obtained any consoles from all publishers and support Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. I have a BA in Creative Writing and have been using my writing skills to write about games and comics for about two years on two different websites: Comic Trash and Fandom Post.

  • I have been playing games for as long as I can remember; from getting a Wii for Christmas, to dumping hundreds of hours into New Super Mario Bros on Nintendo DS. Games have always been around me. However, I never understood the true potential of games until I played Bioshock Infinite. Bioshock Infinite was my first when I was first exposed to depth and intricacy within games. All aspects of the game inspired me, the political story, the multitude of vigors and weapons to play with, or the emotion I felt towards the characters within the game. Bioshock infinite changed the way I look at games, making me fall in love with them in a completely different way.

PC has always been my console and my notebook. I can do so many things apart from gaming that I just can't find the same excitement in any other platform. Don't misunderstand me, there are lots of games worth my time there (Monster Hunter, for example) yet PC is my comfort zone.

That being said video games are my passion, and I've been writing about them for the best part of nearly two and half years now with few signs of stopping. I've written for multiple online teams, both in the UK and the USA, managed to amass over 15,000 views on a personal blog, and attempted to beat 2 world steaming records with one of those same teams - that's among everything else I have done in my online career. As a gamer though, I've a soft spot for quirky indie titles, pixel art, and RPG's. I'm not terribly fussy when it comes to playing, but I can't play racing or fighting titles to save my life; don't know why, just can't. Always available for a chat, please feel free to drop me a message about anything - as long as its appropriate and not TOO weird.

Ran around the old BBS boards getting my hands on the latest and greatest Shareware games. After highschool, got into competitive Counter-Strike (nothing for money) until I got tired of the drama and political side of things. Started my first heavy MMO at this time, Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC), which lead me to WoW and many many others throughout the years. Strictly a PC gamer these days and stream on Mixer.com daily for 7-8 hours with my wife. In June of 2017, finally finished my first novel and published it through Amazon. • I remember the exact moment I first played a video game. I was roughly five years old, and my mom had just come up with a big brown bag. She had just come back from a yard sale and had brought something home for me. Inside was an NES, a copy of "The Legend of Zelda", and "Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo", complete with light gun. Up until that point, I don't think I knew what a video game was, but after getting it all set up, and playing for about five minutes I ran to that yard sale and bought every game I could afford. I walked away with "Metal Gear," "Lifeforce," and "Rampart." I was hooked. Later on I would try to rent a copy of "Tiny Toons" for the SNES and was confused why it didn't fit into the NES. I like to think I've gotten a little better at understanding video games since then.

I can enjoy anything from an RPG whose hours go into the triple digits, to a casual match-3 game I can play in bursts of five minutes each. When I'm not playing games (and sometimes even when I'm playing games), I'm enjoying comics, movies, and television shows from today and yesterday (haven't mastered getting content from tomorrow, but I'll let you know).

  • Travis Brinkley has been gaming ever since he could wrap his hands around a controller. His favorite game of all-time is Borderlands 2, with Pokémon Emerald and the Mass Effect Trilogy not far behind. He likes almost every genre there is (excl. MOBA), and is currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, and of course, Overwatch.

  • I've been playing video games ever since I got a DS Lite with Pokemon Pearl when I was 6 years old, and I haven't stopped since. A few years ago I started collecting older games as well as buying new ones, so I'm now the proud owner of an NES, SNES, Wii, WiiU, Nintendo Switch, DS Lite, Gameboy Advanced SP, New 3DS, 2DS, PSP. PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Atari 7800, Sega Genesis and a relatively decent gaming PC. My top list of favorite games is constantly fluctuating since I'm always discovering new fun games to play, but currently my favorites include Overwatch, Pokemon X, Bioshock, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Last of Us, LocoRoco, Uncharted 3, Ori and the Blind Forest, FEZ, and Katamari Damacy. I've also been writing game reviews for my personal and school blogs for a while now, and if you're interested in seeing some older articles of mine feel free to check out the tumblr page on my profile.
