I want to see video games continue to push the boundaries with bigger and bolder ideas; less sequels and more new IPs. The best way to do that is to be as honest a critic as you can be, no free passes.

  • I started playing video games for as long as I can remember. My first console was the Sega Genesis of which I am still fond of to this day. I was later conquered by the world of PlayStation specially through its exclusives. Kratos from God of War is one of my favorite characters in gaming. I've owned most of the consoles made by Sega, Nintendo, and Sony. Other hobbies include reading, sports, and movies.

  • Video games have been a passion of mine from the very first time I played one, at the age of five on Amstrad!( Never heard of it? It was an 80s thing) From then on, I developed a great love for video games and have always owned some form of console throughout each generation of gaming, from the NES to the PS4. Call me a casual if you like, but I've been gaming for almost three decades now.

In regards to video games, I co-wrote "Portal 2: Abyss" and worked as lead writer of "Devotion" and "A Step Into Darkness". All three games have been greenlit on Steam.

  • I'm Jake, you're not. I'm sarcastic, British, a Whovian, a YouTuber, a Slytherin, the Sultan of Brunei, Annoying, and have a tendency to lie when listing things (I'm actually a Ravenclaw).

I play video games and write things. Not always at the same time though, as that's pretty difficult. I admire anyone who can, though.

    Favourite games for selected consoles:

    PC: Worms Armageddon
PS1: Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon
PS2: The Simpsons: Hit and Run
PS3: The Last of Us (even though, technically, I played it on PS4)
PS4: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
    360: Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
One: Don't have one, as I sold it because I'd rather not play a game of Minesweeper just to load up a game, after waiting an hour for the disc to install.

Other notable games/series include TES (personally I prefer Oblivion to Skyrim in all but mechanics - except for lockpicking. Oblivion's lockpicking was boss), Fallout New Vegas, LEGO Racers, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, Rock Band 3, and, rather boringly, OMSI Bus Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, because they're mindless procrastination fodder.

I play pretty much anything that is served in front of me ; with particular fancy to single player story driven experiences and a dislike for sports games. (obviously). I've ventured my way from Nintendo , through Xbox and am now a proud Playstation supporter. I'd rather not start wars over consoles , but rather the rising amount of trash that fills our digital stores - I also like to rant. When I'm not playing games , I'm reading about them ; and when I'm not reading , I'm writing about them.

Did I mention I like video games.

  • I have been playing games for as long as I can remember; from getting a Wii for Christmas, to dumping hundreds of hours into New Super Mario Bros on Nintendo DS. Games have always been around me. However, I never understood the true potential of games until I played Bioshock Infinite. Bioshock Infinite was my first when I was first exposed to depth and intricacy within games. All aspects of the game inspired me, the political story, the multitude of vigors and weapons to play with, or the emotion I felt towards the characters within the game. Bioshock infinite changed the way I look at games, making me fall in love with them in a completely different way.

Ran around the old BBS boards getting my hands on the latest and greatest Shareware games. After highschool, got into competitive Counter-Strike (nothing for money) until I got tired of the drama and political side of things. Started my first heavy MMO at this time, Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC), which lead me to WoW and many many others throughout the years. Strictly a PC gamer these days and stream on Mixer.com daily for 7-8 hours with my wife. In June of 2017, finally finished my first novel and published it through Amazon. Hope to one day be able to say that I write for a living.

  • I remember the exact moment I first played a video game. I was roughly five years old, and my mom had just come up with a big brown bag. She had just come back from a yard sale and had brought something home for me. Inside was an NES, a copy of "The Legend of Zelda", and "Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo", complete with light gun. Up until that point, I don't think I knew what a video game was, but after getting it all set up, and playing for about five minutes I ran to that yard sale and bought every game I could afford. I walked away with "Metal Gear," "Lifeforce," and "Rampart." I was hooked. Later on I would try to rent a copy of "Tiny Toons" for the SNES and was confused why it didn't fit into the NES. I like to think I've gotten a little better at understanding video games since then.

I can enjoy anything from an RPG whose hours go into the triple digits, to a casual match-3 game I can play in bursts of five minutes each. When I'm not playing games (and sometimes even when I'm playing games), I'm enjoying comics, movies, and television shows from today and yesterday (haven't mastered getting content from tomorrow, but I'll let you know).
