  • I'm a dock worker, most of my time ends up being spent at work. Any free time that I do have is usually spent playing games and sometimes writing. I never went to college for writing, journalism or anything like that. I have an associates in liberal arts. However, writing and video games have always been how I relax after a log day of work. I have had a passion for gaming ever since I got my first Pokémon when I was 5 and I have had a passion for writing ever since I was 15 in high school. Overall, I'd say I'm pretty normal. I work hard as dock worker and I try to bring all effort I put into being a dock worker into my own writing.

  • Hey, listen! If you're looking for hot-takes about video games you've come to the right guy. While I have a particular affinity for Nintendo titles, I play and love (well, sometimes hate) games of all genres. Besides gaming, I enjoy a good film, a nice run, and a little painting.

  • Not much to tell. I'm just a huge nerd that picked up a controller at a young age and never quite learned how to put it down. I love admiring games for their artistic direction and the worlds they create as opposed to pure gameplay but there probably isn't a game out there I won't try.

Otherwise, I'm an adventure, fantasy or a more light-hearted genre type of gamer.

  • I'm a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia Journalism (Cum Laude). My favorite video game franchises are Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, Pokémon, and Just Dance (though I deeply miss Dance Dance Revolution), but I'm open to playing other games past, present and future. Writing has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and I hope to write novels on the side of my journalism career. I've written news and cultural commentary on my personal blogs and Sonic news on Mega Visions (formerly SEGA Nerds). The latter journalistic venture stoked a fiery passion for video game journalism. I enjoy reading, working out, watching anime on Netflix, going to the movies, listening to music, traveling, and attending anime conventions dressed in cosplays that make my mom smile and Vera Wang cry. I live in meteorologically bipolar South Florida.

  • A gamer at heart and a critic at brain.

Writing has always been a very passionate hobby of mine, and combined with my interest in dissecting the interests I pursue, resulted in my aspiration to become a full-fledged critic. My love for games is more firmly entrenched in Nintendo's archive, but I'm excited about the opportunities present in other companies, most notably indie companies. Trying to find my place in the world, I show my hand more often than I would in the past.

  • Hello there,

I came into gaming quite a bit later than all the cool kids. My first machine was a bulky, cube like PC that arrived one delightful Christmas at the age of eleven. Playing videogames has since been my number one activity in my spare time. So much so that I don't really remember what on earth I did for fun before the age of eleven! Fast forward a decade and my writing life has already involved running a gaming blog online, professionally editing documents for clients around the world and now - it's Keen Gamer. Happy to be here!

  • I remember the exact moment I first played a video game. I was roughly five years old, and my mom had just come up with a big brown bag. She had just come back from a yard sale and had brought something home for me. Inside was an NES, a copy of "The Legend of Zelda", and "Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo", complete with light gun. Up until that point, I don't think I knew what a video game was, but after getting it all set up, and playing for about five minutes I ran to that yard sale and bought every game I could afford. I walked away with "Metal Gear," "Lifeforce," and "Rampart." I was hooked. Later on I would try to rent a copy of "Tiny Toons" for the SNES and was confused why it didn't fit into the NES. I like to think I've gotten a little better at understanding video games since then.

I can enjoy anything from an RPG whose hours go into the triple digits, to a casual match-3 game I can play in bursts of five minutes each. When I'm not playing games (and sometimes even when I'm playing games), I'm enjoying comics, movies, and television shows from today and yesterday (haven't mastered getting content from tomorrow, but I'll let you know).
