After years of waiting, Mortal Kombat 11 has finally come out for current-gen systems and has received positive reception from most outlets. However, two criticisms that critics had towards the latest installment of the Mortal Kombat franchise was with the Tower of Might's unfair difficulty and the lackluster implementation of loot given to players in the Krypt, which will incentivize players to use microtransactions to buy in-game currency to open lootbox-like chests containing cosmetic gear, among others.
This also hasn't been sitting well with the community, as fans are using user reviews on websites like Metacritic and Steam to vent frustrations of these features. After so much backlash, creative director for the MK series, Ed Boon, announced on Twitter that there would be a host of changes coming to the game to fix the Tower of Might and Krypt issues coming soon.
Mortal Kombat 11 was released today for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
