Pavor – Take a Trip to the Island of the Dolls

Pavor is a first-person psychological adventure horror game set on a nightmarish island, inspired by the real-life Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls). As the name implies, the island is covered with dolls of all shapes and sizes, damaged and decayed over years of exposure to the elements. Essentially, nightmare fuel doesn't even come close to describing Helios Games' take on the horror genre.

Pavor is inspired by a real-life location and the haunting stories that permeate its existence. Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls) is an island near Mexico City where a man dedicated his life to decorating the land with as many dolls as possible in hopes of calming the spirit of a drowned girl. Pavor thus seeks to take players across a fictionalized version of the island by having them uncover new and strange paranormal horrors residing deep within its jungles.

The Island of the Dolls has collected numerous stories throughout the years, and players will explore a selection of its most spine chilling.
Each character the player accompanies has their own reasons for being on the island, their own goals and their own secrets to uncover. No one story is quite like the other; however, the connection each story has is the island. This provides momentum to the overarching plot of Pavor that spans across time.

Whilst on this time-hopping island tour, players will face off against a wide variety of creatively morbid monstrosities with varying behavior. Furthermore, players will make narrative choices that not only alter the story, but impact directly upon the gameplay itself, and what future challenges they may face.

Learn more by visiting the official Pavor website or check out the group’s Discord page for direct updates from the developers. In addition, they often upload in-game screenshots and occasional bits of lore.
Pavor will be scheduled for a PC release, with a Kickstarter for the project being planned in the near future.
