So you're taking too long to land and often you miss your teammate's designated landing point by more than just a hair? Don't worry, this guide was created just for you. With battle royale style games like PUBG and Fortnite, learning how to land faster and how to land farther is of utmost importance. Some people jump as soon as the battle bus enters the island. Some people land directly above their desired area and point downwards aiming to get there as soon as possible. Don't be these people.
How to Land Farther
Sometimes the battle bus route across the island is too far from your desired drop zone. Don't worry, there's a way to get there without having to land all the way across the map and run a marathon.
When you drop, aim for your desired drop zone and instead of looking directly down, continuously press your dive/glide button. This will be X for PS4 gamers. Spamming the dive/glide button will let you continuously switch between dive and glide mode. This allows you to move horizontally across the map while losing little to no altitude. Then when you're about half a mile from your drop zone, drop down directly and you should be able to glide in with enough altitude to land on medium-small sized buildings.
NOTE: this could just be a glitch on the developer's end, but let's hope that it never gets fixed.
How to Land Faster
This is a mistake. You always need to come in on an angle from your desired landing point. Finding the correct angle comes from experience and unfortunately a lot of trial and error. So next time, drop fast, but not directly above your zone, instead start to position yourself at about a 45 degree angle from where you want to land. Start to get a feel for the right angles and you'll find yourself on the roofs in no time.
