E3 2017 came and went without Joel and Ellie, from the upcoming The Last of Us 2, even making an appearance. It was no surprise that tons of fans soon after would ask Naughty Dog about the status of the highly-anticipated sequel. Naughty Dog game writer Neil Druckmann then took to twitter to explain why The Last of Us 2 was absent. He had a very concise explanation,
Believe me, we're super excited to show you more of Ellie and Joel's 2nd journey, but right now it's Chloe and Nadine's time to shine.
Although hardly a consolation, the response given was to be expected. Naughty Dog likely wants to market one game at a time and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is releasing first on August 22nd, 2017. The good news is that on PSX at the end of this year, Naughty Dog might show something new for The Last of Us 2 instead. That show was were the game was originally shown off last year after all.
