One new move added to Samus' arsenal is a "melee counter"  this allows the player to quickly swat away a charging enemy and give them an extra opportunity to defeat them with Samus' plasma cannon.
Also announced was a special edition release of the game which will come bundled with a soundtrack containing twenty-five tracks from various games in the Metroid franchise.  Amiibo functionality will also play a role in the game both Zero Suit Samus and Varia Suit Samus from the Super Smash Bros. collection will be compatible as well as two new figures.  One being a metroid escaping from a containment chamber and the other being of Samus herself in the classic Metroid II pose.  You can watch the trailer above or watch it in 3D from the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
