Final Fantasy XV is one of the most anticipated video games of all time. After numerous delays and changes, its release is finally upon us. It will officially be out in a couple hours in some countries and later today everywhere else. Here are some useful tips for the game without spoilers!
1. take it slow cause The world of eos is huge
Seriously the map in this game is massive, and you should definitely take time to appreciate all the work that went into it. Of course everyone will be rushing to the end of the game, but honestly I'd recommend taking it slow. Try not to rush through your playthrough considering that Final Fantasy XV will most likely take a couple weeks to completely finish.
2. Learn to love the regalia….for now
The Regalia is the car you'll drive in Final Fantasy XV. It'll be your main source of transportation until you get to ride a fan favorite creature that you may or may not know about. Again, no spoilers just in case. However it's a very cool vehicle and will be very useful for your travels through Eos.
3. You don't have to play the other final fantasy games
A common misconception is that you have to play all the other Final Fantasy games to understand this XV. This is not true at all as the game's don't really have to do with each other. They don't have any set continuity at all besides sequels such as Final Fantasy X-2 or Final Fantasy XIII-2.
You should definitely play some of the older games if you do find the time after playing this one.
3. Watch Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV
While it seems to be getting a ton of hate, it is still a prequel movie to the game. You don't have to watch it to understand the story of the game, but it will kill time till the game's release. Video game movies just tend to receive a lot of poor reception. They usually are enjoyable, just don't expect something truly spectacular. You can rent or buy the movie here or maybe see if any of your friends have it!
4. Play the judgement disc demo
If you aren't in Japan, you'll have to make a Japanese Playstation Network account to download and play it. The Final Fantasy XV Judgement Disc Demo is pretty lengthy and will give you a good look at the characters, combat, and environment. The demo can be a little weird and complicated if you don't understand Japanese, but it is still worth trying out.
5. The Combat and gear
If you've ever played a Kingdom Hearts game, you'll find the combat in this game to be very similar. It's not a copy, but more of a love letter to fans of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts 3. You'll have to use a mix of different weaponry, magic, and parrying skills to be successful. It's also possible to change out your weapons and buy new ones throughout the game.
6. magic
Magic is very useful in Final Fantasy XV. Throughout the game you will find elemental spots where you can collect it. You'll be able to craft and combine it with different items in the game as well. So if you want to be more powerful and not just swing your weapon around all the time, give magic a shot!
7. Do side quests
There are tons of side quests in the game that will further expand the game's story, as well as give you more to do and ways to level up. Most players are tempted to skip side quests and end up missing out on them. They can sometimes be a chore, but other times they can be extremely rewarding. You might also run into some interesting characters.
8. consider buying the season pass
The Season Pass for Final Fantasy XV will offer tons of new content and an online co-op multiplayer mode. It sounds really cool so far but won't be available for a while so you have lots of time to decide if you want it. Of course you should make sure you enjoy the game so don't go buying it right away! Some versions of the game include the season pass, such as the Premium Edition.
With all that said, this should be enough to prepare yourself for the release without spoiling anything. You have a grand adventure ahead of you so make sure you enjoy it!
