How to rank up faster in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered

1. Play kill confirmed, headquarters or search and destroy

So yeah these are two very different game modes so really it comes down to what you’re most comfortable with between these two. Kill Confirmed is basically a less campy Team Deathmatch. You kill the enemy and pick up their dog tag which scores you a point for your team.

You can also pick up any unconfirmed tags that your teammates may have dropped to prevent the opposing team from scoring. It’s usually pretty fast paced and a ton of fun so definitely give it a try! Headquarters is another great game type for leveling up fast.

It’s very similar to hardpoint in the newer Call of Duty games. You are ordered to capture the headquarters and hold it as long as you can. The hard part is that once you do capture the headquarters you will only have one life until the timer ends. The opposing team will still have unlimited lives as they attempt to destroy the headquarters.

It’s a ton of fun and great to play again since it was removed in previous games.  There is also Search and Destroy, a super competitive game mode where your goal is to either eliminate all enemy players or plant the bomb at its site, depending what side of you’re on.

You get a ton of points from Search and Destroy matches but it can be a bit tough if you’re not very used to the game. You’re only given one life per round so definitely make sure you’re ready.

2. Look For Challenges to complete

If you hit the barracks button in a pre-game lobby you’ll find that there are tons of challenges waiting to be completed. Some offer a cool looking camo for your weapon, while others offer a calling card. If you plan out what challenges you want to complete and maybe get the easy ones out the way you’ll rank up really fast compared to just playing matches.

In the barracks, it will display very useful information for challenges, such as ones that you are very close to completing as well as the reward you’ll get for them.

3. play with your friends

Friends can be weird, you can’t buy them on the internet but can usually meet them on there. You can also go to this mystical place called the outdoors to meet some but that sometimes can be too much.

Time goes by when you’re having fun and playing with friends is most of the time a lot more fun than playing alone. Plus it’s a lot better than having teammates that are doing much work in a match. There’s also plenty of ways to find people online, especially using the community feature on PS4.

4. Work towards something

This one probably sounds weird but it does work. Having something to work towards in a video game with increase its replay value by quite a lot. So check out different things in the game, maybe a gun such as the desert eagle or a certain rank. Maybe you want to hit 10th prestige before your friends or unlock a camo before anybody else.

This honestly helps make the game feel a lot more fun cause you really feel like you’re making progress. You’ll feel relieved and happy when you finally reach your goal!

5. find a gun that you’re comfortable with

Finding a gun that you’re comfortable with is extremely important. You want to use something that you perform very well with as this will get you a lot more points. It’s fun to experiment with different guns and that’s great for challenges but if you aren’t performing well with them it’ll make a huge difference.

There’s a lot of good guns in the game but here’s some of the best ones for starting off

Here’s some really quick tips as well to help you out!

  • You can get away with not having stopping power on a couple of guns such as the MP5 and P90.
  • Keep in mind that kill streaks do not stack just like in the original game, use them before you earn your next one.
  • Helicopters are extremely easy to shoot down, two rockets can easily bring one down or a rocket and a couple bullets fired at it will.
  • There are a couple challenges in the game that are very easy to complete such as one for jumping to your death and one for blowing up a car.
  • Getting gun camos is a great way to get a ton of xp, just can sometimes be hard to get headshots.
  • Remember to always shoot where you think an enemy may be hiding, bullet penetration is crazy in this game so never hesitate.
