Bethesda Confirms Limits on Mods for Skyrim Special Edition
Amid discussion of mod support for console versions of Bethesda Game Studios' games, we now have confirmation that – although still receiving modding tools and content – the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will have limitations on the extent of user-generated content.

In a news post released by Bethesda, the company acknowledged their excitement about the impending release of Skyrim SE and opted to disclose certain technical details. Notable among the information was a statement claiming that mods would "reserve 5 GB and 1 GB of space on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively."

This distinction made between PS4 and Xbox One owners is also visible with the console versions of Fallout 4while those playing on Xbox One have enjoyed 2 GB of space for mods, PS4 players will be limited to 900 MB when the feature is fully integrated.  No word has been received at this time that clarifies why this decision was made.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will be released on October 28th, 2016 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Along with the addition of modding on consoles, the remaster is set to introduce improved graphics and tweaked environmental effects.
