Far Road Games

is a studio of 3 people in the Greater Manchester area, England. The studio includes Scott MacDowall (designer) and Mariana MacDowall (artist) and Nick Stevens (programmer).

Description

Far Road Games was officially born in May 2015.

They love post-apocalyptic fiction of all kinds, especially how it enables moral investigation and the weirder/darker side of being human.

They have been making Atomic Society for 13 months and blogging about the journey in detail. They want to create a city-builder where the citizens feel much more unique and alive than in other games, where the player can enjoy watching and interacting as citizens do all the dark, weird, and amusing things that people do.

The Team

Scott MacDowall, the game's director, responsible for the gameplay and vision. He also acts as producer and does jobs such as making this Kickstarter.

Nick Stevens has been programming non-stop as a hobbyist since the Atari ST era and is now a first-class computer science graduate, and something of a genius in our eyes. The vast majority of the code in Atomic Society has been created single-handily by him.

Mariana MacDowall is the 2D and 3D artist and animator on Atomic Society, responsible for giving the game its unique and attractive look on a tiny budget. She is also something of a polymath, able to provide additional light programming and design whenever it is required.
