Wii Gem A Boy And His Blob is Coming to Switch

Ziggurat Interactive has announced that the 2009 gem from the Wii library, A Boy and His Blob, is coming to Switch. After the Wii, the game later got an improved HD re-release on other platforms, including Steam in 2016. Meanwhile, the brand new Nintendo Switch version joins the hybrid system’s ever-growing library sometime this Fall.

Developed by WayForward Technologies, A Boy and His Blob is a reimagining of the 1989 NES title, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia. The remake is an adorable puzzle platformer that has received largely positive responses. The small hero can give his blob friend a big hug any time he wants thanks to the dedicated hug button.

When Blobolonia is threatened by an evil Emperor, the blob comes to Earth looking for help. Instead, he finds a young boy. Help the blob dethrone the evil Emperor that’s terrorizing Blobolonia and establish a friendship with the blob that will last a lifetime.

The young protagonist of A Boy and His Blob can feed jelly beans to his blob. As a result, it can take on 15 different forms to help the boy overcome obstacles. In fact, some are new forms that never appeared in the original game, such as the Caramel Cannon. Along with the cute art style, the reimagined adventure has a heartwarming story and 40 unlockable extra challenge levels.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch version of A Boy and His Blob will give Nintendo fans their first taste of the HD version of the game. You can check out the older re-release trailer below to get a better look at the gameplay.
