is an update to Tekken 7 arcade version with additional characters - including Akuma from the Street Fighter series. Tekken 7 is being developed by Bandai Namco Games. It will be the ninth installment in the Tekken fighting game series.
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is an updated version of Tekken 7. The official trailer was shown at the end The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 on December 11, 2015, in Tokyo, Japan. A new trailer shows Kazumi pleading to a mysterious figure to stop her husband Heihachi if she is unable to do so herself. This figure is revealed to be Akuma from the Street Fighter series. The graphics for the game have also improved, and the lighting for the stages also uses a filter-like style, primarily highlighting a single type of color, akin to how Tekken Revolution edited stages from Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
It now takes considerably less amounts of damage for a character to reach Rage Mode, approximately requiring about 70% loss of health to enter Rage. Additionally, Rage can be used to consume Rage Drives now.
Rage Drive now act as an alternative to Rage Arts. A Rage Drive is a series of consecutive attacks or a single attack with a higher amount of damage and increases the options a player has. When a character uses a Rage Drive, they will be highlighted by a blue aura for the attack's duration, and there is a distinct sound effect when the Rage Drive successfully hits. If a Rage Drive and a Rage Art collide, then they will cancel each other out. While a single Rage Drive was listed in Namco's official website, Hwoarang was revealed to have a second Rage Drive, hinting that characters may have more than one Rage Drive. Failing to successfully hit or complete the Rage Drive will still consume the rage. If a character is knocked out by a Rage Drive, a different slow motion effect will be used as the announcer says "K.O".
Rage Arts can still be activated during Rage Mode, but the lower amount of health remaining in the user's health bar, the more damage is dealt. Some characters also had their Rage Art changed moving from 7 to Fated Retribution. A Rage Art will still be able to absorb a Rage Drive like a normal hit.
Tekken 7: FR has an improved matchmaking system, where the players can be more selective on where they want their opponent to be from. They can also register other players as "Friends" online through Tekken-net and search them out if they're currently available to play against.
Additionally, battling either a friend or an offline opponent will give you the option to change the stage and your character before your revenge match.
Customization items and ranks from 7 can be ported to FR without issue.
During battles against opponents, you may ocassionally have an item battle. Winning an item battle will give you unique items.
