Few words about the latest art for DoA

Hey-hey, but how is it all done and what is behind the curtains? I am preparing a big and interesting article and this is a tiny aperitive.

Sometimes I do the promo art for the game that can be used everywhere where you cant put the video. A silent illustration to introduce your followers to the product... And I am going to show the work in progress of the latest piece for Dungeons of Aledorn.

I had many ideas that included as well massive views with crowds of people, but because of some certain limitations it was a house from the Manto town, an accessible location in our alpha.

First and very important thing is to pick a color scheme. Most of the time I use complimentary system, the main color with contrast details - it does never fail in case the deadline is knocking on the door and there is no time for massive experiments. I have to admit - I hate all of my pictures on this step, because it looks ugly and and seem that there will be no light at the end of the tunnel.

Add more shadows, start to play with my 2d art like with clay and don't forget to look at the reference (in my case these were the screenshots)

Some of our kin don't need to use contours, they just go there armed with brushes like a samurai with his sword, but I sometimes really need them to feel the picture better. It is nothing more than a simple personal preference.

Texture, fog, bells and whistles for better wow-effect and the sacred light... though not in the end of the tonnel but from the above to underline the epicness of such an event as our first alpha for the entire team.

Hallelujah!
