PlayStation VR is said to come out later this year and is likely going to be very popular after years of development. Sony has advised that the VR headset should not be used by players under the age of 12.
Eurogamer noted that the latest PS4 3.50 update beta has some information about the VR headset in the “Health and Safety” section. This section advises users on how to use the PlayStation VR headset.
It said: “The VR headset is not to be used by children under 12 years of age. Check what is around and remove barriers before use. Take measures to prevent pets, children or other obstacles from getting into the area before use.
Some people may experience motion sickness, nausea, disorientation, blurred vision or other discomfort while viewing the contents of the virtual reality. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop use immediately and remove the VR headset.”
VR is still something that is still being explored and we are only at the very start of things to come. It’s still unknown how successful VR will be and it’s likely that the experience may not be suitable for all gamers. No specific release date has been announced, but with other announcements about the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift I’m sure Sony will reveal a date sometime soon.
