Mass Effect: Andromeda Day One Patch?

Mass Effect: Andromeda is fast approaching its launch date. But will we see a day one patch in time for the release? Perhaps it will be ready in time for early access? Or will the realities of game development trump expectations once again?

Mass Effect: Andromeda Day One Patch?

Mass Effect: Andromeda is fast approaching its launch date on the 21st, and apparently there is already a day one patch in the works set to release the same day according to the game's lead designer Ian S. Frazier. When asked if the team is already working on patches, he tweeted his response:

"Yeah, a good portion of the team is still working on the day 1 patch. No rest for the wicked. ;)"

But is it really realistic to assume it will all be neat and tidy by then? Frazier believes so. In fact, he's so overwhelmingly confident that when asked if it will be ready by then he stated it might even be ready for the early access players on Origin and EA Access:

"Actually, it'll be ready in time for the early access players even–we're pushing hard on it!"

It's refreshing to see such optimism coming from the lead designer, but apparently, others on the team aren't completely sure about the release of the patch. Andromeda's producer Michael Gamble tweeted a response to Frazier that said:

"That's the intention. Nothing is 100% yet."

So the day one patch is still shrouded in some mystery, but hope is allowed to spring eternal. And with that, I will leave you with a game trailer and a release date.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC March 21st. Origin Access and EA Access players will have access to a 10 hour trial of the game on the 16th.
