The new year is finally here and this one is going the be great for gaming. Lots of anticipated titles that were either delayed or recently announced will finally be in your hands soon. This list will consist of 10 titles that were either given a release date or confirmed to be out sometime this year.

1. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 final chapter prologue (January 24)

This one actually comes out really soon with a release date of January 24. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 will be the final prequel game to the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3. The game will consist of a brand new playable story where you play as Aqua after the events of Birth by Sleep. Also an HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance will be included, a game originally exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS Lastly included in this package is an HD movie that will tell the story of the Foretellers, an early part of Kingdom Hearts lore. Like many fans, I've been waiting for a new Kingdom Hearts game on console for a long time. I absolutely can't wait to play the game and see what's in store for the future.

2. Mass Effect Andromeda (SPring 2017)

Mass Effect returns with a new entry separate from the original trilogy. This time you'll be exploring the Andromeda galaxy as the Pathfinder. A soldier with the task of finding peace for humanity in this uncharted galaxy. The visuals and gameplay alone look amazing and I'm excited to see the story Bioware will tell this time around. Mass Effect is one of those games that makes you really feel like you're in a movie with its cinematic feel and impressive RPG elements that allow you to alter the outcome of your journey. The game will be releasing this Spring for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, and Xbox One.

3. Red Dead Redemption 2 (Fall 2017)

As a huge fan of Rockstar Games, I really am looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2. I never got to finish the first game but am hoping to get to it before this one releases. Not much has been said about the game at this time but it will more than likely have an impressive online mode as well as an extremely immersive storyline. The heart of a lot of Rockstar Games for me are always in the amount of content the games provide. A huge story as well as an amazingly crafted online mode is what Rockstar is known for and I have complete faith in them delivering this for Red Dead Redemption 2. Fall 2017 usually means November for most titles so be sure to check our website for an announcement!

4. Prey (2017)

Prey is another great title set to release this year. It reminds me a lot of Bioshock with a little bit of Dead Space mixed in. No set release date has been announced yet but I'm hoping it will come out in the summer. I'm a huge fan of the Bioshock games and to be getting a game similar to it in 2017 is truly amazing. It seems to be a single player only game but it'd be great to see co-op added in some sort of way. Either way it's looking to be a great experience.

You can preorder Prey by clicking here.

5. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (2017)

While I don't play a lot of fighting games, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite really caught my attention. The visuals alone look great in this game and having so many incredible characters in one game is going to be a lot of fun. Characters like Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Ryu, and Morrigan will be able to go head to head in local and online battles once again.

You can preorder Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite by clicking here.

6. Lawbreakers (2017)

The legendary CliffyB strikes again with Lawbreakers, an exhilarating first person shooter with creative gravity based combat. This game looks extremely fast paced and fun to play. You'll be able to choose roles suited towards certain play styles with different weaponry. The maps also have been created around the movement and gravity based combat and will be tons of fun to play on.

You can sign up for the Lawbreakers beta here.

7. Cuphead (MId 2017)

Cuphead is a highly anticipated single player and co-op Run and Gun platformer developed by the creative minds over at Studio MDHR. It is inspired by 1930's cartoons with its visuals are hand drawn and inked. Even its music is completely original and beautifully crafted. It'll be released on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Steam sometime in Mid 2017.

8. Star Wars Battlefront 2

After the release of EA's Star Wars: Battlefront, fans were left disappointed with the lack of content, and felt scammed with much requested maps and features being exclusive to the games Season Pass. The game wasn't bad, it certainly got better overtime but it didn't live up to the original Battlefront titles and this time around EA has to prove fans wrong. EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 will take place in the sequel trilogy and most likely include content based on the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIII. A glimpse of it can be seen in the trailer above for the future of Star Wars games. This is going to be a great year for fans and EA can do right by them to make a great Battlefront experience and correct the mistakes of the previous title.

9. Resident Evil VII (January 24)

Resident Evil 7 will be returning back to its horror roots and changing the games perspective to first person. This will take the survival horror experience to a more up close and personal feel. The game will also be PSVR compatible for a experience that will give you nightmares. Resident Evil 7 takes place after the events of Resident Evil 6, it hopes to deliver a experience that will define the next era in horror entertainment.

10. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017)

With all of the Nintendo Switch rumors going around, it seems The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be releasing very soon. This time it will take things to the next level with an open world filled with forests, mountains, and more. You'll discover what's become of the ruined Kingdom of Hyrule in this brand new experience. Overall this looks to be the best The Legend of Zelda game yet. It promises tons of discovery, exploration and adventure in the original style we've grown to love. Breath of the Wild will be available on Wii U, and Nintendo Switch.

There were a few games on this that I’m excited for in 2017. Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Mass Effect Andromeda, and Breath o The Wild. I am a bit disappointed that Yooka Laylee, Ni No Kuni, Sonic Mania, and Project Sonic 2017 was not on this list I really look forward to playing those, and I know there are a bunch of Switch games coming soon as well
