New Star Citizen Campaign and Gameplay Details Revealed

Cloud Imperium Games' presentation at Citizencon yesterday revealed more information about Star Citizen's single player campaign and gameplay. A progress report and roadmap for 2017 was outlined as well.

New Star Citizen Campaign and Gameplay Details Revealed
Cloud Imperium Games hosted its presentation at Citizencon yesterday, revealing more information about Star Citizen's single player campaign and gameplay.

The single player portion of the game, titled Squadron 42, will include 28 chapters with over 60 missions, 360 speaking characters, over 20 hours of performance capture, a script that’s 1,255 pages long, 40 different ships, and dogfights that will take place both in space and in the atmosphere. Though it won’t be ready this year as initially announced, the developers are planning to show fully developed missions soon.

During the presentation a new demo of planetary gameplay was also showcased. Broken up in four parts, all found below, the footage reveals that the whole planetary environment is actually spherical, letting you see as far as you could like in the real world, without any kind of distance fog to limit draw.





Cloud Imperium Games has yet to announce an official release date for Star Citizenthough a completed package is slated to come out on Windows and Linux eventually.
